House Mouse and Mojo Monday Challenge 433

I like the simplified sketch for the latest Mojo Monday challenge, so today I made a card using one of the House Mouse stamps I recently purchased. This image is so cute but coloring the image was a bit of a challenge. I used a color theme of blues and browns and decided to try coloring in the image with Prismacolor Colored Pencils. I tried using markers first, but the coloring was way to harsh. After experimenting with the colored pencils, I discovered a light touch is best.

I started by stamping the House Mouse image in black. I colored in the cup image first, then colored the mouse and tea tag. Once all were colored, I buffed it with a tissue to soften the look. I then constructed the card using solids and a decorative brown scrapbook paper. The small light orange colored flower embellishment just gave it a little pop.

By the way, stampers...this little House Mouse stamp is up for sale in my ETSY shop, along with other House Mouse images. The decision to put the mouse in the teacup image up for sale was a tough one. This little mouse looks so content and he makes such a cute card that I was very tempted to keep him. I will keep this card though to remind me of my loss.
