Mojo Monday challenge, so today I made a card using one of the House Mouse stamps I recently purchased. This image is so cute but coloring the image was a bit of a challenge. I used a color theme of blues and browns and decided to try coloring in the image with Prismacolor Colored Pencils. I tried using markers first, but the coloring was way to harsh. After experimenting with the colored pencils, I discovered a light touch is best.
I started by stamping the House Mouse image in black. I colored in the cup image first, then colored the mouse and tea tag. Once all were colored, I buffed it with a tissue to soften the look. I then constructed the card using solids and a decorative brown scrapbook paper. The small light orange colored flower embellishment just gave it a little pop.
ETSY shop, along with other House Mouse images. The decision to put the mouse in the teacup image up for sale was a tough one. This little mouse looks so content and he makes such a cute card that I was very tempted to keep him. I will keep this card though to remind me of my loss.
