Vintage Elegance

I love cards with a vintage look. I recently purchased a 2003 Hero Arts stamp called Gracious Lady and decided I wanted to make a card that had a vintage and elegant appeal. I started with a black base card (5" x 7") and covered the front with a decorative paper and a coordinating decorative paper.

I stamped the lady in black and backed the image with some ivory colored and black card stock. I tied a black ribbon and bow around the card then attached the main image at the left using pop dots to raise the image. I stamped a second image and cut out only the lady. I attached her using a pop dot under the head and glued the bottom of the image flat on the card to give her dimension.

Card Inspiration

It's funny how sometimes certain things you see inspire you to make a card. I recently purchased a large lot of scrapbook magazines for a friend of mine at a yard sale. Even though I don't scrapbook, I decided to take a look at a couple of the magazines. As soon as I opened the first magazine, a layout grabbed my attention and I immediately thought...Oh, that would make a cute card!

I followed the design of the scrapbook page layout and the card below is what I came up with. I really like it...and decided that now I have to go through all the scrapbook magazines (before I give them to my friend) to see what other inspiration I can find.
