Twelve days before Christmas and I am just starting on my Christmas cards. The design I had in my head (months earlier) came when I saw a set of tiny Santa and Mrs. Claus rubber stamps for sale. I bought the stamps then set them aside. The idea was to stamp Santa and the Mrs. in a circle and fill the circle with some type of round image. I just finished a commission job for a lady today, so decided today was the day I would start my own cards.
Using my light box and a circle template I stamped Santa and Mrs. Claus (what is her first name anyway???) in a circle, alternating them. I colored in their outfits and faces then cut the card stock into a square. Next I had to decide what image I wanted in the center. Did I want an image or a greeting? I decided on both...a tree image with a sentiment that circled the tree. Next I die cut a green layer to back the stamped circle and a larger red circle that would fill the inside of the Claus couple circle. The stamped tree image I backed with pop dots to raise it off the card a bit. Before adding the layers to the base card (red 5-1/2" square card) I added a few tiny white pearls to the tree. Once the layers were attached to the card, I added a tiny shiny metallic green brad at each corner.
